Yesterday was Mother’s Day, and it’s always one of the hardest days of the year for me. Losing a child is something no one can truly prepare for—there’s no handbook, no step-by-step guide to help you find your way through the grief. Stillbirth changed my life in ways I never could have imagined, and in those moments of pain, the only thing that helped was hearing the stories of others who had walked the same path. Shared experiences, just as heartbreaking as my own, gave me a sense of direction when I felt lost.

That’s where You Do You comes from. It stands for so many things—injury rehabilitation, sports recovery, neurodiversity—but at its core, it’s about finding your way through life’s hardest moments by staying true to yourself. For me, stillbirth was one of the biggest drivers behind creating You Do You and shaping what it stands for: the belief that the only way to heal, to move forward, to grow, is by doing it in a way that’s authentic to you.

So today, and every day I celebrate all the mothers. The mothers who hold their children in their arms, the mothers who hold them in their hearts, the mothers-to-be, the ones who long to be, the aunties, the friends, and every single woman who plays a role in a child’s life. You are seen, you are valued, and you are loved. 💛

⁉️Ever heard of the beach ball perspective?

Izzy throws the beach ball to me, I can see 3 of the beach ball colours, Izzy can see 3 different colours. Mimi to the left of me can only see her 3 colours, Phil to the right of me can only see his 3 colours.
We can’t all see all sides of the beach ball at one time because we all see things differently.

I’ve always tried to see others perspectives on situations and I’ve brought my girls up to do the same. They’re the masters of perspective and have given me very good advice over situations in the last few years - a 21 and 24 year old!

If you’re not able to TRY and understand the reasons people do the things they do, this can be extremely damaging to friendships and relationships.

I don’t always get things right but I have a good heart with only good intentions.

If you’re unable to see why someone has done what they’ve done - don’t be mean to them, communicate with them. Ask them why.
Maybe you’ll learn something and maybe you’ll save that friendship ❤️
